As I travel through the seasons of my life, I find precious memories in each one.  I think of childhood, teen angst, college, career concerns, looking for love, becoming a wife and mother and now, enjoying them all. These memories blend together in my mind like the multi-colored leaves I see on the horizon in this beautiful state called Michigan. 
                I know first-hand what it’s like to live in other states in the west and south. I’ve been to many parts of the world. Paul Donohue: Ejection fraction indicates severity of heart failure

Dear Dr. Donohue: You disappoint me beyond belief. I have sent the same letter four times and still can't get a response. My problem is heart failure. My condition is apparently deteriorating, as my most recent echocardiogram showed an ejection fraction of 20. A year and a half ago, it was 30. Attached is the copy of my original letter.

 
Arts League of Michigan moves to Harmonie Park

Efforts to create an arts hub downtown will get a big boost Monday when the Arts League of Michigan moves into its new home at the heart of the new Paradise Valley Cultural and Entertainment District.

 
Iroquois Avenue Lutheran hosts travel program

Travel the world without leaving Detroit -- while simultaneously contributing to Habitat for Humanity -- at a slideshow presentation by inveterate traveler Stewart McMillin. A veteran Detroit tour guide, he'll share his recent adventures in the Far East and Middle East, including Yemen, Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, Lebanon and Syria, at noon July 19 at Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church, 2411 Iroquois Ave., Detroit.

 
Jeanne Phillips: Colleagues question womans new look

Dear Abby: A co-worker, "Marilyn," recently returned from time off with a noticeably different face. She said nothing about it, so we didn't either for a while. Finally, one woman remarked to her that she appeared to have had "some work done." Abby, Marilyn denied it!
